football patch award system
This letter from a coach to his parents has a nice introduction and
explains how the patches can be used.
"We hope that this football season provides your child with a basic knowledge
and understanding of the game. We will work hard to make sure that your child
has fun, gains confidence and builds their self-esteem during practice and in
the games.
Each individual player will learn about teamwork and how to communicate
effectively, deal with winning and losing, self control and self discipline.
All of these qualities are the necessary building blocks or tools that will
guide them to success through life.
Below is our football Patch Award System. It describes each patch and how to
earn it.
The patches can be ironed-on to a plain white T shirt that your child can wear
to training sessions. This is the preferred method. Alternatively, the patches
can be fixed to caps or bags.

Latest survey feedback
"Many unruly kids now behave when they know patches are on
offer.
There is a definite improvement on all skill communication levels.
Match days are more competitive and there are smiles all round when
I produce my little bags.
Also when we play matches when we shake hands at the end I give a
patch to the other coach to reward one of his players :) "

"I thought the parents would
laugh at me when I suggested using them [but] the feedback I got was overwhelming
positive. We won 7 of out 8 league games since using them, and won our first ever
tournament - in our previous 5 attempts, we'd only progressed passed the qualifying stage
twice.
Maybe it's coincidence, but even so,
I'm happy to keep using them if they get results like that!" |
